An example might help you understand the notion pretty well. Let’s just take railway station for example. This station has three platforms, namely Platform 1, 2 and 3. The first train on the platform number 1 will arrive at around 9:10am and second train will be coming at around 9:25am at platform number 2. You have entered the railway station and wait on platform number 2 at 8:30am earlier than anybody else. Now, do you think you have any advantage over others just because you have reached the railway station earlier than everybody else? The answer is no. You have to learn about it under first log-in.

The similar notion with NSE data servers:

In the same manner, there was no such advantage in the logging in first to the said NSE data servers. In the NSE TBT architecture, the data was sent by PDC to TBT POP servers.

And probably everybody logged in to the servers in the very first second of the server startup.

The sender process of ticks from PDC to POP.

· Each one of the POP server is known to have three sender processes under port 10990, 10991 and 10992 in a respective manner.

· The sender process on each one of the port disseminated data to the members as connected to it.

· Each member is known to have an IP and port combination by the NSE for proficient connection. Data was mainly disseminated to the sender process on port 10990 and the to the process port 10991 and finally to the sender process port 10992.

· The first connection in this regard is to the TBT POP server might not have been allocated to port 10990. Thus under no such circumstances, these members would get data first

The primary or initial member to connect to the port 10990 might have overall around 10th time to login to that of the TBT POP server. In the same manner, the member might have established connection well first and in time to that POP server that fail to connect first to PDC on given day. Even one such IP connected first to the port 10990, where a member might not be disseminating data first in the current system.

Multiple clients disseminated data simultaneously:

On given day, there is no possible way available to determine order of data dissemination between multiple clients. A brief explanation on the concept of data dissemination process will help you better understand the concept of first log-in. Let’s just say that for a given day POP 1 was disseminated data ahead of the POP 2. It is hard to know because the second position on the POP 1 along with the first position as noted on POP 2 is simultaneous theoretically. If you extend the same reasoning to the available 15 server ports based combinations, you will come to the conclusion that multiple clients were disseminating data rather simultaneously.

You have to learn more about data dissemination to get to the bottom of the NSE colocation scam. The more research you plan to make the better results you will come up with.
